Thanks everyone for the tips, esp Scott and Red. Waiting to hear back from Fender to see if they'll be able to ship me a new neck and control plate...if it's a no-go, I'll probably see if MF will send me one in black...not my first choice, but a bass is better than no bass.
No. INSIST on a white one.
Thats the one you paid for and thats the one they will give you even if they need to pay Fender CS to build you one.
Be polite but insistent in your dealings with them. It it their responsibility to get you a brand spankin new WHITE Jag. IMO they will hold their value more than the others- they're quite sought after.
Ask for the full replacement money. They messed up and you deserve a new bass and a project body.

Dude. Cut your losses. Take the cash back and then find a white Jaguar somewhere or go with the black which is also pretty cool looking. You don't want to that bass, there could be hairline cracks running through the body and it could turn to dust with any wear and tear. Also the neck pocket could be damaged with all that damage to the neck. That bass is toast. Sorry for your situation....sucks!!!!
I wish it worked that way...but all I would get back is my money, they want the damaged one before refunding me.
Couldn't help myself, more dead jags:

That is very disturbing.....
I kinda laughed at first when I saw the crushed car...then I was sad when I say the dead cat.
GC, Music123, ZZounds, and AMS either don't have it at all, or don't have it in white. In either case, MF said that they are only allowed to order from Fender...so if I found it somewhere else, they can give me my money back so that I can buy it at the other source.
MF just called back, gave me these options:
1) Return bass (on their dime) for a full refund.
2) Contact Fender and get a new neck through the lifetime warranty replacement policy.
I'm hoping option 2 works...I have to go read the fine print now and see exactly what is covered by the warranty, but my understanding is that warranties usually cover manufacturer defects only...
dude, i know you are jonesing for this bass, but man, you -need- to send it back. seriously. get a refund and keep your eyes peeled for another one.
seriously dude. after the trauma that that instrument has been through, you don't want to take the chance that something you don't see is wrong and comes up later.
Maybe they'll refund your money, and let you keep the bashed up instrument. Can you say parts bass!?
I didn't stop to read the whole thread, but save EVERY PIECE of packaging material. That is an absolute requirement for UPS claims. If you get rid of the packaging, you're done.
Wow. Just, wow... anothe reminder to go with FedEx whenever possible, although FedEx has had its share of problems, too...

The olympic white Fender Jaguar bass I ordered from MF was damaged in shipping; I have attached a few pictures. The neck and fretboard are cracked from above the nut to past the 3rd fret. Frets are missing, the strings are broken, and the control plate looks like someone stepped on it. The pot shafts are bent, the knobs are broken, and when I opened the control plate to check for further damage, I saw that some solders were broken where the plate was pushed in.
I have already spoken to two MF representatives today, but am not happy with the choices presented to me.
They told me to contact Fender warranty repair for a replacement neck, but this is not viable, since there is damage to the rest of the bass, and there is no telling if there are cracks in the rest of the body or not.
Another option presented was to return it for a refund. I am not too happy with this option either, since it will present further hassle to me, packing and shipping the bass, and I do not wish to end up without a bass that I have been wanting to own since it first came out.
Surely, there are some basses left in Fender's reserve stock from which you can order; after all, this bass was only discontinued last week! And if there aren't, I feel that MF should pursue other sources so that I end up with the product that I paid for. I have found a source where you can order it from and can send a link if needed. I would order it myself, but they will not pricematch you. It is both MF and UPS's fault that the package arrived in such poor shape; the packaging was less than acceptable.
In the end, I do not want to end up with a repaired bass, nor do I want to go through the hassle of returning a product I have wanted for years because of events which were out of my control.
I trust that you can resolve this matter so that I can feel safe ordering from MF in the future. This was my first experience with MF, and so far, I am not at all pleased. Thank you for your help in this matter,
