Yeah, they were pretty ridiculous. And draggingly boring too, really. As boring as "Amityville 3D" was horrifically stupid.

Exorcist: The Beginning

Saw it last night.
It wasn't nearly half as bad as it deserved to be. It wasn't the original, not by a long shot, but I didn't feel like I wanted my money back (unlike a few movies I've sat through).
I'd sat 3 out of 5. Average. Not bad, but not really stand out good, either.
I suppose I'd have to say that if you're into this sort of thing, you'll like it, but if you're not so much into horror and whatnot, wait for the DVD.

I was at the first showing of the movie here!...along with 3 other people. Yes that's right 4 people in the entire theatre...to be honest, I envy those who haven't seen it.
Digitalized EVERYTHING! Hyenas, sandstorm, bugs, and last but not least blood! The scene where the guy slits his throat and blood squirts out...it's obviously computerized.

I was watchin it at my friend's house and we were sittin there laughin our asses off. I hadn't seen it before and I thought it was freakin halarious. Must be all the crap in the world today that I see that desensitized me so much I find it funny.
While I'll grant you that Exorcist 2:the Heretic was so very gut-crampingly bad that it was beyond stupid, Exorcist III was actually pretty good: George C Scott and his improvised monologue about the carp in the bathtub, the old lady crawling on the ceiling, the Nurse getting decapitated in the hall,the angel of death...Come on people. How could you not dig that? Especially after James Earl Jones dressed as a grasshopper in E2:tH.

I get an email-based movie review service called Flickville. The reviewer, Teddy Durgin, is occasionally as cynical as me. His take on this show was funny. Apparently they had shot and completed the entire movie with one director, screened it for focus groups who found it somewhat scary and somewhat though-provoking. So the studio canned the whole thing, fired everyone but the lead male actor, and started over with a hack director, doing everything possible to remove controversy from the focus groups responses.
The reason I find this amusing is Teddys' take on this process being money driven. He writes for everyone reading the review to chant out loud:"THE POWER OF CASH COMPELS THEM! THE POWER OF CASH COMPELS THEM!"
Now THAT'S funny.
Saw it yesterday. Im a huge fan of the first so I wanted something decent but didnt have my hopes up. It turned out to be better then I thought it would be but overall my opinion of this movie is that it was craptastic.
Initially it seemed like they were on to something or that they were going to be on to something. Then nothing happened for a while then in the end the movie became just plain stupid. All it amounted to was that they took the shocking moments of the first movie and tried to reuse them in a new story, except this time the scary parts were goofy looking because of the CG. They missed the entire point of what made the first one scary. Nothing was adequately addressed as far as explaining how the events of the first one came to be. I dont even want to get into the parts of the movie that made no sense. By the end I was sad that I was still sitting there. $6.50 and two hours of my life that I will never get back...
