Experiences with bassstringsonline.com?

Thank you all for the kind words! We really appreciate the support!

We recently implemented the Real Time inventory which is very tough having thousands of SKU's but it seems to be working out. Unfortunately for what FerruleCat mentioned the La Bella products do take a long time for us to get in due to their manufacturing / ordering process. We have dozens of those sets on order for a few months now and unfortunately are still waiting... As far as that other website I do not believe they show real time inventory so you are left guessing. I will be straight up with you and tell you what is going on. Once we have those sets in stock it will state "IN STOCK."

I made my first purchase from them a while back. I have nothing but good things to say about Jason and bassstringsonline.com. For me, living in Germany pretty far from retail sources of strings, they are a godsend.

Will only deal with them in the future.

Prices are great and service is even better. And you can actually expect informed insights when you ask questions on string this or that. With that huge selection, it is entirely logical he can't have everything in stock all the time.

i care about my strings, and I really appreciate bassstringsonline.

I prefer JustStrings, which has been more predictable in having my particular strings in stock and delivering them to me quickly. For example, my strings include LaBella Beatle Bass flats and Fender 5250 short-scale roundwounds, both of which are listed on the BSO website as "Please Call or E-Mail for Availability." Meanwhile, the 5250s and Beatle flats are both clearly in stock at JustStrings and are an easy click away from my shopping cart without having to check on the status.

But granted, Jason at BSO is $7.50 cheaper on the Beatle flats and offers free shipping, so you have to decide whether it's worth it to pay more for a streamlined experience. Depending on what you use and your overall purchasing volume, you might want to look around to compare on price and convenience.

Before BSO I used Just Strings as well. One of the reasons I started looking for a new string source was because I ordered 'in stock' strings from Just Strings, but it took them 3 weeks to actually get them in stock. So their inventory is not real time. Just because it says 'in stock' does not mean they have it on hand..it just means you can order it and it may take a while to get. I also got sick of paying inflated shipping charges for a set of strings.

I've used Bass Strings Online ever since. That was 3 years ago.

Aside from the Rogue violin bass, I'm moving from short scale to 34" these days. Maybe I'll try another order from BSO. I don't suppose Chromes and EXLs would be as problematic as the Labellas.

Nope! Huge inventory of both brands can just refill D'Addario a lot faster. Most all D'Addario ships same day or next day. There are some "Specialty" D'Addario strings which if we run out of take 7-10 days to receive, but those are only Single Chromes, Single Half Rounds, Single Tapes, and odd scale round singles. Everything else is pretty much ready to ship!
