Double Bass ExplorAudio Customer Service

Yea I played a loud rehearsal last night with that mic placement and the Focus tweaked as described and I was amazed how much nice mic sound I was able to use. In fact I never "ran out" the mix of mic and pup never needed to be altered and the drummer was slammin (in a good way)
I really think that the Focus ought to have detailed intstructions on how to use it... the filters make it possible to dial in a room very quickly without too much futsing, it you have a plan...
yea, about the AMT, I have not owned one but I have owned a bunch of little condensers and I think the Dynamics have a huge edge. I really like this little Audix, its small like the AMT but a dynamic: it plugs straight into the Focus. I used to own the Solstice too and I can tell you that he Focus blows it. The Focus has it all and 800 watts too.
I created a double cord (taping a mic cable to a 1/4inch) because I hate all the wire mess, but i'm thinking of having the guys at Lava cable just make one that way.

More Kudos for Robert. He is very cool. Nice guy super helpful.
This clamp rocks. I have been (as above) placing the mic right under the fingerboard, and I am getting virtually no feedback. Last night at the gig I had the mic cranked (I didn't realize that the gain had been puhed so far up) and I played a whole set that way before noticing. In a different placement it would be howling, but up under the fingerboard got lots of good mic and no feedback (the Focus HP deserves some credit too)...
But this mic mount is worth its weight in gold.
