Yes, the Zebrawood 11 was still unfinished in the picture, only roughly sanded. The 12 is a single scale 34" that I plan to tune G#-Ab (.254" to .007").

I love the 10 string .... funny looking at the fanned frets on such a wide board, doesn't look as extreme as it would if it were on a 4 or 5 .... very nice

Fender had made a 5 with a high C and only 15 frets (to the high Eb of a Fender 4 string neck) in the mid 60s (from 1965-70). I can remember Tommy Roe's bassist in a Florida pickup band using one when we were doing an Oldies Revival concert in Tampa in 1982.

Alembic had offered 5 and 6 string basses with high tunings in the 70s when Jimmy "Flim" Johnson requested an Alembic 5 string and used a .120 GHS E string for a low B. This was in 1976.

Unfortunately it was stolen out of Alan Holdsworth's equipment truck on a tour, so if anyone has seen this bass and it's distinctive headstock, please let Jimmy know!
Decided to put frets in, I just could not get comfortable to playing fretless with a 35 inch scale, I can´t get acurate enough, I'm used to 34 inch fretless.
Fretted I don´t have problems with any scale.
