Here's my bass without the ugly dude holding it:

Its fretless twin with a buckeye top should be in my hands in a month or less.

Here's my last Elrick e-volution singlecut that I was forced to sell. I like my new one more because it's a 34" and the pickup placement, but I still loved this one a lot:

My old Elrick Classic six- wide spacing and a 36" scale made it a bit big for me, and I found I greatly prefer the e-volution body shape to the Classic

My old Hill fretless 6- sounded fantastic, but was a bit heavy and didn't balance the way I prefer. I also didn't know how to handle a high C on a fretless back then

And my old Elrick e-volution four string that had Hipshot Xtenders on every tuning peg, so the range was extended due to it being in weird tunings a lot. Great bass- sold it when I gave up on fours entirely.

Well this is kind of a picture. Another excuse to post my render of a pending project. :D

Which reminds me - - -
Bumping a string question from an earlier post:
Wilser started building me a 6x2 12ver (much like the above render).
I want to make it as “warm mid-rangy” and “un-metallic” as possible.

I’ve asked for 33”scale, specifically wound dual-coil PUs, and 20mm saddle spacing (for fingers rather than a pick).
Looking for feedback on string choices;

I ‘m thinking nickel-coated strings. I’m considering mostly Smith Burners .
(I can get a “lifer” discount for the Smiths at the local music store):
Lower Octave:
-Set, Smith Burner Mediums - C.030– G.045 –D.065 – A.085 – E.105 – B.130
Higher Octave:
-Set, Smith Burner Piccolo - - - - - - G.020– D.030 – A.040– E.050
-Single Smith Burner - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (sold as D) B.065 or .070
-Single Conklin - (sold as A#) C Snakeskin 011, or Powerskin. .015

My biggest question mark is on whether to go with the .011 or .015 for the higher C
Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

P.S.
I know this typically would be in the "Strings" section, but for something so specialized, where better, right?

How could i miss this thread ?!

Here's my Bee

...oh and don't forget to check out this video from the Lodo Bass Bash

That is such a nice bass! I never used to like the shape of these basses, but that is incredible!

Also, thanks for the link! Some incredible talented people there! Jeff Schimdt should hook up with Andy McKee! The way they compose their songs is very unique (at least in my opinion).
