I also didn't know how to handle a high C on a fretless back then...
As someone who's entering that particular realm in a couple of months (assuming that I can sell my STR

spade's right- we've seen very little of your basses other than tiny, low quality shots. Some nice clear big ones of them individually would be great to see.

Wow! Some really gorgeous basses here. It's important to keep perspective on one's ultimate goal, though. If it's to be unique, a showman, a star, etc., fine. If it's to enjoy steady work as a solid bass player, 4 is plenty and 5 is fine.

one major advantage to the extended range is being able to play a lot of stuff without moving. While most note how hard they think 6 string bass is, the fact that I can get a lot of what I need without moving too far from the 5th position is not a bad thing.
james, i really dig that bass. if you ever decide that you need to unload it for whatever reason, please contact me.
Sounds like you have a healthy approach. Why then do you describe yourself on your myspace page as "just another bass player for hire?" : )
Ultimately, the music scene is a big clique and they've been keen to inform me that I'm not in it and probably never will be. A few turds have been so kind to make sure to black list me based on working with other blaclkisted musicians as well as having a different approach to music.
