At the moment I'm running:In case you stack yours...in which order do you do so with your fairfield pedals?
The Accountant -> Barbershop ME -> Randy's Revenge
At the moment I run bs-4eyes-accountant-ups...
I want the dynamics of the bs and 4eyes, that's why the accountant follows.
Starting to think that the barbershop MIGHT be redundant if one has the 4eyes...still in the lab on that one though.

Interesting. You are using one of those very differently than I do. My BS tames or softens everything, including the four eyes, or clean bass for that matter. Maybe I should try higher gain again.
Just got one last month. Sounds great, very low noise, sounds natural/still hear my bass and seems to add a small bit of compression to my passive PBass tone.

I just found that the 4yes can do things quite similar to the barbershop.
4 eyes the fuzz? I don't see how the barbershop can do fuzz. Do you mean the accountant? I can see that being similar to the bs. Very confused.
I think he means the 4 Eyes can do low gain similar to the BS.
Ah, right. The bs might be redundant if the fe can do both. Poor reading skills on my part.

LOL. Yeah. I don't use mine like that, but it makes sense. I like going 4E (higher gain) -> BS where the BS can boost and/or smooth out the 4E. To me that sounds different than the 4E at lower gain, but I'll experiment some more based on what you're saying.
I added a Barbershop this week courtesy of @alltomorrowsparties and I really love it so far. So subtle and articulate.
How does the BS boost the 4E if the 4E feeds into the BS?
4E sounds real god too when pushed by the BS feeding into it.

BS after the 4E may very well be fun!
Just as a volume "boost", not a normal gain boost. I like the BS after most everything.
I like the dynamics to come through with the BS. To prevent the touch sensitiveness from getting lost , I have not had it behind anything much yet.
I'll try and see how it goes.
Barring any major disasters, I will never sell this pedal! Best ring mod I've ever used.

I've been interested in the Barbershop for a while so I went to check one out at a local store. They said they had it in stock but when I got there....they didn't
But....they had The Accountant....so I tried that out with a Ken Smith J4, an Aguilar TH500 with a DB212 cab. Dream setup right??
Wrong! The Ken Smith had dead strings and was in severe need of a setup. Straight in to the amp it just sounded terrible - I couldn't get anything resembling a tone I would actually use.
However, with The Accountant - I was actually getting some awesome squashed, mildly hairy, tubey tones. I was seriously impressed and I've been thinking about it ever since.
So my question is this....can I expect the tones I described above out of The Accountant? Or was it just some kind of weird mojo coming out of a bad situation?
