Faital Pro 12pr310 sealed?

Ok. I got them installed in the v4 cab. The baffle is set a little further back than Inhad estimated. The internal is right at 4 cu. ft. But... sealed. Should be ok? I have 1 1/2 inches of cheap mattress top egg shell foam in there.

I won't know what t sounds like until Tuesday or Thursday evening.. but I plugged the old Hiwatt in and it passes signal pretty well. We shall see how she holds up to the 300T!!!!

Exactly. I just lined a cab with it this morning. I used 9/16" staples. I cut small squares out of old cotton shirts and staple through that, into the insulation so that the staple doesn't pull through. Makes the inside of the cab very dead.

Nice. I think these are considerably cheaper and easier to find than Roxul Comfortboard or similar. Always nice to have more options.

OK so I finally got it up to the practice room. I didn't a/b it with anything, but I did pair it with the old 810 just for kicks and I had to put my hand on the 810 to see if it was going. It was. :-/

So I still need to hear it with a band but so far I think it may need some tweaking.. I am not totally happy with the way it handles the low end. It is a little rumbly. If I knock the 63 and 125 down a little on the eq it helps, but the lows are not really coming through correctly. ..but also I was using an unfamiliar bass and it may have been a little too hot. It has a G&L mfd P pick up in it.

Ok so if it isn't just a dialing in thing.. is this where adding more dampening comes in or am I going to need to start building those 2x12s? What are the signs of not having the dampening right?

Two things. It sounds like you need to line the cab with some of that 2.5" white non-itch fiberglass insulation. I thinks it's made by Johnson? Sold at Lowe's. Second, the drivers need to be used for awhile and broken in a bit. I suspect the capitals have more mids and treble.

Ok! I got it dialed in. This cab is doing exactly what I wanted. I A/B'd it with the 810 and it did everything and more in half the package. It sounds almost identical and just as loud, but with a little more clarity... like turning up the "loudness" knob on an old stereo... my 810 os beat to hell so that may have something to do with it)... BALLS!!!!

Only problem now is that it is rattling something in the amp. I had this problem with my hiwatt cabs too.. had to put a piece of accoustic foam under the head..

You could add some rib bracing to the inside top panel of the cab as well. This totally fixed the same problem on an old Emperor cab I used to have.

Ok. I don't know if anyone is following this anymore or not, but I have been gigging this for a while and it is really working out. The speakers are breaking in nicely and it sounds amazing! we let some friends use our cabs the other night to save on travel expenses, and the bass player was in love with it. I think he was using an old 100w bassman. I have gotten a lot of compliments and people are always surprised by the amount of sound that comes out of it.

Sorry if I didn't follow the previous page. You ended up using the 12PR310?
