Today, I was searching the internet for I the DG Harmonic Booster and found a copycat. I wonder how good/bad the copycat is?

This is the first time I have seen clone/copycat/fake Dark Glass pedals.

Further searching found that DemonFX has copies of almost all the Dark Glass pedals. They even sell them on Amazon. I have tried my share of cheap pedals from Amazon and some of them are actually decent. Wonder if these fakes suck?

They aren’t perfect copies, but they are good for the price. I got the DemonFX Mini Chorus, and it ended up being my favourite chorus pedal (I’ve since ordered a real Analogman chorus to replace it)

Their Cali 76 Compact Bass "clone" sounds quite good IMO, but gut shots look very different from the original, FWIW. I've seen quite a few complaints on reliability though, and the one I have here was gifted to me after it came to my friend DOA new in the box. He's sending me another broken one to see if I can get it up and running too.

I have quite a few of Demonfx pedal they are amazing and pretty dam good for the price. I can’t be spending a couple thousand bucks on pedals I’m just an average joe slaving away making a shameful $25hr. I have the D7k ultra it’s pretty good and I have the Call76 compression pedal even more amazing probably my favorite, I have the alpha omicron not a big fan it’s too extreme in my opinion and lacks a EQ section tends to make the sound muddy unless I go n mess with the amps EQ .I have the tape echo it’s great I use it alot and besides the echo effect u can set it barely on a get a reverb effect as well out of it as well so I like that’s it’s versatile. Been eyeing there analogman chorus mini pedal lately and the dark glass harmonic booster probably going to buy those two next. Demonfx kicked all my boss pedal off my board, boss is good but Demonfx is just better they replaced my boss delay my boss compressor my boss overdrive n my Behringer reverb.

The visual design is really bordering on "RQLEX" territory
Yep.

Looked at the previous thread, had no idea about these pedals...

All I can say is fans of this "brand" should be happy there are "suckers" like me who still want and value the genuine article. This way, Darkglass can still produce innovative and high quality products for DemonFX to steal.

We are all very thankful for your service.

Thank you for your virtue signaling. ;)

I have the Demonfx EQ pedal. I wasn't very impressed when plugged into the signal chain. Actually, I thought it was defective and not working. Swore I'd never buy another Demonfx Anything. Later, I changed my signal chain and tried it again. This time it made an audible difference... it was okay. Then a day or two ago I was looking at the ISP Decimator G String and, yep, found a clone Demonfx on Reverb.

I see the winking emoji...

I do, however, think counterfeit products like these are a problem, and I'm not sure how anyone can be in support of this type of business model.

It's not being "snobby" to purchase real products developed by an innovative company over "products" that are outright copies right down to the artwork.

It's called being poor lol. I don't have a lot of money. I know the answer might be "well no darkglass for you, go eat your gruel" but my answer is to buy these clones.

I'll buy the real deal one day when I'm out of debt. But for now, the clones will do

Thats the silver lining I see for the originals. It will likely inspire people to buy the real deal when they can afford it. Like if you have a corvette with the engine and stuff of a smart car. One day, you might wanna know what a real corvette is like

Where do we draw the line? Are Jazz bass copies okay? I’ve got an LA-2A clone with teletronix artwork on it. You end up on pretty shakey ground if you are okay with that kind of thing but think DemonFX has gone so far that you start questioning the character of anyone that would buy one.

To someone that is familiar with these cloned pedals the DemonFX look like obvious fakes, just like a Fender fan can recognize a real one (I can’t tell them apart from the fakes without looking close).

If the original cost even 179. I'd buy it, but it doesn't, and for about $80 I got the best tone shaper I've ever had, the d7k ultra. I bought that and their "supersymmetry" for about 150 total but I still like my TC Elec. Hypergravity better. ps just looked, it's 449., as an aux input I don't need... same price as the last bass I bought. The b7k doesn't have frequencies the Demon fx does, like 250 low mid. I change that one for basses that do or don't need it.
