Hey Bluesblaster
Thanks for the intrigue!
Those are the five basses I designed and built the bodies for, along with the help of my local wood shop. I have been working with Keith Horne of Marvin Guitars in LA for a number of years now. He built the Fender Performer, the two Fender Hollow Bodies and is now building and finishing up the Les Paul Hollow bass for me. I sent the bodies with the finished bridges to him and he did the necks and the pockets and the assembly work. Then he took them over to Pat Wilkins for the finish work. He does a wonderful job and is a super great guy. I love working with him. We wants to teach me how to do the necks too, but we will see.
I had designed and co-designed a lot of basses over the years - but this was my first opportunity to be "hands-on" in the wood shop. I had a blast and I have collected special wood for 10 more and the designs are on the drawing board. So, after the electronic installs are finished on these, and I put them through the paces in the studio - I will plunge into the next round.
