Famous Bands You Opened Up/Played For

Manu Dibango
Youssou N'Dour
Tabou Combo
Sergent Garcia

Manu was the only one I got to really talk to and he was super cool.

I forgot - I also got to jam onstage with the Sugarhill Gang and backed Deborah Cox for a set. I chatted with the guys from Sugarhill over breakfast at the hotel and they were really nice and down-to-earth.

Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, early 2000's
Tiffany (yes the 80's pop star), early 2000s
Chubby Checker again, early 2000s.

Great story, Chubby's people couldn't find his backing tracks, so one of our friends' mom had his greatest hits CD in her car, so he used that.

The last 2 were some of the lamest shows I've ever played, but they're fun stories.

Hells Belles " I am not sure they qualify but they are one hell of a band"

I don't think they qualify, but I'm opening for them next week!
Here are some of mine that I can remember, I think I've been pretty lucky.
Motorhead
Rhino Bucket (with Simon Wright)
Prong
M.O.D.
Malevolent Creation
Forbidden (in '95 or so and in 2008-09?)
Broken Teeth (w/ Jason McMaster from Dangerous Toys)
Lynch Mob
KMFDM
Death Angel
Kira Small/Bryan Beller
Mike Keneally Band/Bryan Beller Band (lifetime dream!)

Umm i've been playing for my brutal death band amagortis for one year now and metalheads will know:

Defeated sanity
Gorgasm
Brujeria
Condemned
Malignancy
Fleshgod apocalypse
Mumakil
Birdflesh
Sepultura (festival)

Inside of switzerland we headline most of our "underground" shows though ;)

Don't laugh guys, but back in the day (I'm old and still playing) my band opened for the R&B group Color Me Badd in Okinawa Japan in front of 20,000 fans. Outdoor concert. I sounded awesome going through the monster PA that was there. I was offered an audition by their management for a female singing group they were putting together. Unfortunately I was serving in the U.S. Army and couldn't travel back to Oklahoma for the audition let alone travel.

Hey did you ever meet Jake Evans aka The Funk Master General (RIP) I know he played bass for Chubby Checker as well. Sadly Jake passed away last year.

The Dudes
Entire Cities
Dinosaur Bones
Paper Maps
The Junction

That is all...for now.
