Fane Sovereign 10-125 sealed driver

Just to let everyone know, Im selling off all of my raw drivers. I've got all the cabs that I could possibly use and need to focus more on playing than experimenting so check out my for sale thread, "the big 10" speaker sale" Most of the speakers we've talked about in this thread can be found there.

I might take you up on a couple of those items if I decide to go through with this. I've had good results with these types of projects and they are great proof of concept exercises but part of what you pay for from an experienced designer/builder is a proven design that nails the spec well. Here is an itemized list of parts needed for a build of a sealed .5 aligned 610 (I guess it's really a 510+8) shown below with that 8" mid in the top left position. The wiring diagram includes a -1.9dB switchable pad for the Celestion mid. I thought pet screen could be attached around the horizontal bracing structures to sub-divide the internal space for better support of the stuffing material. Parts and materials for this DIY project come to about half the cost of buying a 69er. I have no doubt this would work together and sound great but it's a lot of work to build one of these from scratch and would be a working prototype.

The Fane 10-125 response has a dip at 900 Hz and the Celestion TF0818MR has a recommended high pass at 800 Hz so it makes sense to just align the low pass and 2-way crossovers at 800 Hz. I think the mids around 600 Hz should be a little more present this way which would also work better with the Streamliner 900 I'd like to pair it with. With the resistor values available in that low-inductance 50 watt mill spec, a -1.9 dB pad would reduce power to the 8" mid by about 1/3 and make it blend in smoother with the Fane 10's. A 97dB sensitivity with that 8" mid will still be heard but shouldn't stick out as much. A SPDT switch for the pad lets you engage it or not. The wiring and cabinet diagrams above have been updated to show this.
