Yeah, I bought all of those Flim/BBs cds when they were first issued.
IIRC, DMG was the label...they specialiazed in "DDD" cds (Digital-to-Digital-to-Digital)...I dunno, they sounded great back then...almost a little too pristine nowadaze.
+1 million, though I prefer Slow Hole To China...

Satori by Flower Travellin' Band. These Japanes rockers are the Far East's answer to Black Sabbath. They came out right about the same time and FTB rocks and deserves the comparison.
Larry Taylor on Bass, it was a turning point in my musical tastes. My older brother and I wore the record out.

Cymande "Brothers on the Slide"
From what I know they are a not very well known 60-70's funk band. Great music, Bass lines, just the entire package.

I saw them open for Porcupine Tree a while ago in a tiny venue... they barely fit on the stage with all their gear... I was 4 feet from the stage... they melted my face off. Loudest concert I ever heard (well, except for Motorhead). Then PT came out and was even louder... terrible mistake not having hearing protection. Ears rang for 4 days.
Anyhow, good call... they were good. And nice guys, too, I spoke to one of them afterwards. He was hanging out by his bus on the sidewalk, just saying hi to everyone as they left.
My album... I Mother Earth, Dig. If you're Canadian, you know them. If not, and you like hard rock, you need to get this album. Period.

Tim is amazing. Super humble guy and amazing songwriter. He was the lead singer for Avail if any of you know that band. Now he does the Revival thing with Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music, Brian Fallon of Gaslight Anthem etc.

I won't insult everyone here by saying Cibo Matto, as many TBers probably know of that great, 2 album 90s phenomenon. But did you know that their vocalist, Miho Hatori, recorded a gorgeous album of Brazilian jazz with guitarist Smokey Hormel? Dig it.

I can't limit myself to just one terrific album that nobody knows about. Here's a couple more.
Big Beautiful Sky by Venus Hum. Can't say enough about this group. Electronic pop, yes, but... so exquisitely done. They have a couple of newer albums out now, too, and they're all worth owning. Try this track off their first album.

Not known to the general public but very well known to anyone into "rare groove" or the funk revival scene. The album that contains "Brothers On The Slide" is simply called "Cymande". They're not from Africa. The band formed in England and comprised Caribbean ex-patriots. Some very cool bass lines.
