Favorite Bass/Amp Combination

I'm curious what classic bass and amp combination you guys really like, whether your rig past or present or the rig of someone whose tone you dig. I use the word classic because I know some of you guys have amazing sounding boutique or one-off gear, but I want to talk about gear that everyone is familiar with.

I'm talking about basses like the P and J, Ric, EBMM, Gibson hollowbodies and Thunderbird, etc into Ampeg SVT, Eden WT-300, Acoustic 360, etc.

What combination for what sound/style? Go ahead a be specific with eq settings or pickup selection.

'66 Guild Starfire I, Fender Bassman 1200 pro, Avatar 1x12, and a custom EV 1x18.

My buttocks quiver, and my lower gums itch when I play my Alembic Epic, neck pu only, through my late 60's Traynor YBA-1A bassmaster and my EVM-IIL single 15. My 69 Jazz bass sounds pretty spectacular through that rig as well.......

For me, my favorite all time classic bass sounds on the big gig level have to be either a P or J bass plugged into an SVT or Acoustic 360 rig. Other than that, a P-Bass into a B-15 is truly the foundation of where righteous bass tone begins.

72 P bass+dbx 160A(gain cranked)+somewhat scooped Gallien Krueger 1001RB (good version) into
Ashdown 410 or Ampeg 810 with Korg tuners

Savoy Brown, Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, King Crimson,
Barry White, Al Green, Simply Red, Macy Gray, Golden Earring, Quicksilver Messenger Service etc.

my current setup is hands down the best sounding of any i have ever owned.

2002 r-bass 4 string with bartolini PJ pickups and a haz labs 3 band preamp. i usually set it flat, and it is strung with DR sunbeams

the amp is a markbass F-1, which i set flat, but with the mids at aroudn 11 oclock. i have both filters on at around 9 oclock for the VLE and 10/11 oclock for the VPF.

and right now i have an epifani series 1 ul 1x12.

+1 to most of the above!!! All great combo's.

Have to agree w/ part of one particularly. P or J with rounds into Ampeg V4BH(cranked right to sweet spot) into Bergantino NV610 Gives an AWESOME fat tube grind.
MM Stingray w/ rounds>SVTII > Berg. NV215 = Big fat THICK bass. A P or J w/ flats > SVTII> NV610 = old style thump I LOVE.
