This isn't to judge tour buses and trailers with roadies or planes.

I'm talking about the weekend warrior types or the people just starting to gig out that don't have a trailer and band ride.

I've been in bands where we had that stuff and its F'n great! Roadies included! Lol!

Now I'm hitting the local circuit and I drive myself to the gig (or maybe a couple of us ride together). But no band vehicle regardless.

I currently have a Ford focus wagon. It has TONS of room for gear, but it is about to crap out on me. So I'm looking at getting another ride.

I was curious what everyone else drove for their daily driver AND it was utilized to carry the cabs, heads, instruments, racks and other gear or crap we feel like we need!

I have a Honda Fit, and after four years I still wonder how a vehicle can be so small on the outside and so huge on the inside. For everyday use you've got a subcompact car that drives great, fits in tight parking spaces and gets great gas mileage. When you need to load it up, it has a remarkable amount of storage space with the back seats folded down -- an amount that rivals a small SUV and far exceeds most hatchbacks. Compared to other hatchbacks, for example, (a) it has a higher roof/ceiling, so more vertical space (bonus: more headroom for the driver as well); (b) the back seats fold down completely flat, creating an almost seamless flat floor; (c) the size of the hatch opening itself is larger, so you can actually get big things into (and out of) it. And it costs less than a Civic. I can't say enough good things about it!

You really need this...

BMW Isetta 250

Just enough room in the passenger seat for your bass, just enough room on the shelf behind the seats for your amp and just enough room on the rear rack for your bass cabinet. Problem solved, you can haul all your gear and not have to haul anyone else's stuff. Fits in any parking space and sips gasoline.;)

I always mention in these threads that it's cheaper to downsize your gear than to upsize your car. My gigmobile is a Scion XA, and I usually transport myself with upright bass and amp, plus the guitarist and his gear. It's cozy, but I'd rather not pour gas into a bigger car.
I truly find the db in an xa impossible to believe. I would love a pic of this.

I use this:

It's the only vehicle I can fit my 10 x 10 in..... ;)

Thanks for this thread, since I'll be needing to replace my car soon and I'm looking for a daily driver that can easily carry the gear that I'd like to transport to the places where I practice. I'm currently using a Ford Focus ZX3 hatchback, which isn't bad as a transport vehicle for my bass gear but I'd like to get something a little bigger, that could maybe allow me to carry another 210 cab with good ingress and egress through the hatchback or through some side doors. That Honda Fit looks interesting.

My rythym guitarist has a 2011 Z71 with a 6x12' Homesteader that haul our gear in. Years ago when I played in a punk band, our singer/guitarist had an early 90's Ford Probe. It had enough room for his 4x12 cab, head, guitar, and my bass. Great on gas though! :)
