There's others as well, but all these guys are definitely worth finding out about.

More than a few of them are incredible whether on acoustic or electric.

Adrian Legg
Cool - Adrian nearly made my list but was ousted by Richard Thompson. I used to read and work through Adrian's column in the UK 'Guitarist' magazine back in the '80s.

This is from my Media Player library:

I suppose it's worth a shout-out to a handful of the more 'chart-oriented' '80s guitar players that made a bit of splash with me back then:

John McGeoch (Magazine, Siouxsie and the Banshees)
Robin Simon (Ultravox, Magazine, John Foxx)
James Honeyman-Scott (The Pretenders)

If I have to pick a favorite, I'm going with Alex Lifeson.

I have been a Rush fan since I was 7 years old. Alex is so often overlooked by people. People always talk about how amazing Geddy is on bass, and how incredibly Neil was on drums...but Alex? It's almost like he is overshadowed by his bandmate's, yet he is an amazing musician in his own right.
Agreed. I inadvertently left him off of my list.
