Here's one that's a recent parts build I did. 1998 Midnight Blue MIM P body and I'm pretty sure they only did this finish for a couple years. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. A very cool color that can't decide if it wants to be blue or almost purple if the light hits it right. MIM Precision bass special deluxe series jazz width neck with Hipshot tuners. EMG Geezer signature pups. Since these pictures were taken I actually pulled the Hipshot KA bridge off the bass and went with the stock vintage bent plate threaded saddle bridge instead. Just sounded better.

Whether it's blue or purple it turned out to be a fantastic playing and sounding build. Sometimes the parts come together just right.

I'm partial to a Fender natural, maybe a little yellow tinting but other than that straight clear.

And I'm in the long process of a bass boat flaked green base. Used Ed Roth Gang Green 4mm as a base, and am going to use clear and a make a shaker to sprinkle the large flakes on. Might even do mostly large flakes then a layer of smaller ones to give it some depth.

I got a bass online and didn't realize the color until it arrived ... I'm not even sure what to call this color (is it blue? is it green?) ... and it doesn't show up in pictures nearly as pretty as it is in person... especially in the sunlight.

Here's a closeup of the paint - many colors in there:

Dude, I thought I had a lock on this! Mine's a Squier body with a Mighty Mite fretless neck. Aftermarket PG that really puts a pin in that color. You're right that it changes color depending on the light. Sort of clashes with my Yamaha fretless. I have tapes on mine and it sounds pretty sweet so far. I was looking for that P-bass thump on a budget and I'm not disappointed.
