Favorite Rickenbacker 4003 Color

Love them or hate them, no one can deny a 4003 is one of the sexiest and most recognizable basses on the planet.

So let's hear it TB, what is your favorite 4003?

Jetglo, then Snowglo, with a pinch of Walnut 4003S thrown in there.

Even though im on my 2nd jetglo ric (4001 this time around), id LOVE to find the right one in burgundyglo or turquoise. Unfortunately the price point of the jetglo rics makes them more affordable for me. I also wouldnt want to take the chance of finding the cool color and not like how it plays!!

I think FG looks best on the S models, so I'd choose MID and JG , if I could only choose one (which I did) it would be MID.

I had a jetglo and a mapleglo. Mapleglo is my least favorite, and while I like jetglo, especially on the new 4003S, I've always had a thing for fireglo which my current S is. I would love to lay my hands on a turquoise or blueburst or snoglo too!

But my favorite colors are: Burgundyglo, Turquoise and a gold color that I'm not sure of the name, Desert Gold maybe ?

I've had two 4003's, both Jetglo, and two 4001's, both Mapleglo. I voted Snoglow for the rarity factor and extreme sexiness, but over all those, I'm madly in love with my Trans Green 4004.

I voted Burgandyglo, but it's not offered on 4003 basses to my knowledge, only the older 4001 models with CB and crushed pearl inlays have it, my Dream Bass. Jetglo is a close second, the classic "tuxedo" bass.

My favorite out of what I have is Midnight Blue, but I voted Turquoise - and I've never even seen one! Just love the color.

Definitely Sea Green, the 2000 Color of the Year. Rare as hen's teeth and very "un-Rick-like" but I love it. Below, a 4003 and 4001V63.

Those are beautiful! Would that be considered turquoise or did Rick actually have a Turquoise model?

No. Turquoise was a different shade, a blue-green metallic. It was available from 1994 to 2003. One of possibly as few as three Turquoise 4001V63:

Nice color, was my first choice but ended up with midnight blue.

Curious, do you use the zero-mod thumb rest? I received mine today and took it off after 5 minutes. For me it's too high and a little forward of where I want to be...but I figured I'd give it a try. I just installed the smooth bezel too but now wish I had the coved one...or a ridge right there.

Midnight Blue is currently tied for second place. Nice.

I love the Montezuma Brown finish, but I know they said they stopped that color indefinitely, or so I last heard. Second favorite is definitely Fireglo, of course.
