Favorite short-lived TV series

When I was younger I really enjoyed the Ben Stiller Show. A year before it was on FOX he had a similar show on MTV which was even more raw and funny.

Does anyone else remember the "New Show". It was on around 1983. This skit (Roy's Food Repair) and Mountain Mike are the two I remember. It was hilarious but it was literally only about 2 episodes.

WKRP, maybe that's not "short lived" by the definition of this thread, but it was only on for 3 years in it's initial run. Johnny Fever, Bailey Quarters, Jennifer Marlow? Great cast, love it! We have the family tradition of watching the "Turkey Drop" episode everything Thanksgiving at our house too!

Yep, both were pretty grim; SNF was, apparently, very embarrassing

So many good ones listed here over the years, Parker Lewis Can't Lose stands out as do Firefly, and Sportsnight. I scanned through most of the pages, but didn't see it mentioned. 12 episodes on ABC Family of all things, The Middleman starring Natalie Morales. Think The New Girl meets Dr. Who. Fast, snappy dialogue, cool stories, and fun looking CGI all over the place. Could have been one of the great ones. The male lead Matt Keeslar left to get out of kids TV, and took the lead in Dollhouse, which of course lasted one season.

Firefly of course.
The other standout for me is Karen Sisco with Carla Gugino playing the lead role. A recurring character in the works of Elmore Leonard. Carla later made a cameo appearance as Karen in an episode of Justified. I don't think the show's one season was ever released on DVD, but there is a torrent floating around somewhere. Def worth seeking out if you're a Leonard fan.

Stuff like could even ruin the movie.
I won't watch Slap Shot 2 or Christmas Story 2 for that reason.
