Favorite short-lived TV series

Have you seen the original British version? If not, I'd strongly suggest giving a watch (also, Ashes to Ashes is quite a good watch too, though not quite as good as Life on Mars. Ashes to Ashes is similar in theme, but based in the 80s).

Also, nobody plays Gene Hunt like Philip Glenister!

:D

(I'd definitely get banned if I linked any of the DCI Gene Hunt videos!)

Hmmm - I didn't know there was a British version ... I'll have to take a peek - thanks.

I suspect it was a problem faced by a number of short lived shows.

The initial broadcaster puts it on in a poor time slot (after sports is a prime example, where the sporting event may over run and change the actual time of broadcast of subsequent shows). There is little interest because the show is shown sporatically and it isn't as easy for people to follow. It is decided it must be a bad show and is cancelled.

Only to show a massive cult following the next time it appears.

Firefly - awesome show
Caprica - that show needed more time to develop!
No Ordinary Family
Enterprise
Greatest American Hero
sort of liked Max Headroom

Sad thing is the first two shows on my list (Firefly and Caprica) I never knew about when they were on. I only found them through NetFlix.

I heard that some of the recent TV shows have already been cut. I don't know how some of them get on the air in the first place. One show that is getting cut is Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. I tried to watch it twice. It is awful.

The Tick (cartoon, not the Patrick Warburton series. I never saw it)

Gullah Gullah Island

well does 3 years count as short-lived?

That's My Bush

The Tick is amazing, I loved the parodied super heros.

The Patrick Warburton one is pretty good too, but annoyingly most of the characters have different names (something to do with some copyrights, why it didn't work on The Tick, I don't know).

:D SpoooN!!!! We're probably going to have netflix and/or hulu pretty soon; I'm gonna look for both series!

When I was in middle school I used to stay up late whenever I could to watch the great lineup of The Tick, The Critic, Dr Katz, Duckman

Living Dolls
a "Who's the Boss?" spin-off

That's Hale Berry & Leah Remini.

4 seasons, 2000-2004
(Talk about the perfect ending to a drama! The last few episodes were extraordinary.)

1 season (2016)...10 episodes

It had all the potential in the world, but ‘No, it’s a Baseball story.’ :banghead:
