I don't really like the idea of a signature bass, but I have yet to find a fender that plays or sounds better.

I've had the Geddy Lee Jazz and 1st run of Steve Harris P. Both were pretty sweet. Now my only signature left is The Ventures. It's pretty sweet too.

Just curious why "Signature" models often double prices of standard models? I realize we as players look up to these cats but guess what?

I'd bet a wooden nickel that their #1 axes are stock instruments they got when they were coming up. After all they were once "Nobodys" until they worked their tails off to become heroes.

Endorsement I understand. I don't however understand why heroes won't request an affordable "Signature" model, so that some of the younger folks can afford their heroes axe.

Irreguardless I'd also bet that the Signature models actually used by the endorser are not off the shelf but rather custom shop built axes.

Anyone else see the irony here?

My Geddy Lee Jazz Bass is great. Some have changed the pick-ups but they work for me. I changed the strings to Rotosound Funkmasters and it sounds good to me!

That Lemmy bass is hard to top. I'm not a Ric fan bit that thing makes it.

Aside from the inlay on the Sting, it's about my favorite.
