Sine this thread started with Tony Levin

First time I became aware of TLev's name was in 1975 on the liner notes to Alice Cooper's Welcome To My Nightmare (!)

Will Lee had a great line in an interview I read years ago, something about how when he first tried breaking into the studio session-man business in the early 1970s it was impossible to get work because "Tony Levin and Lee Sklar already had every gig sewn up"

IIRC, Levin played on "Black Widow"...really jogging my memory, there's a bass run that begins on the "& of 1" . That made me think, WTH?

Love those '60s videos...

If a pop/rock record was recorded in LA up to the early 70's, the odds are Hal Blaine played on it, even 'band' albums, with a few well known or obvious exceptions. If it wasn't Hal, it was Earl Palmer.
