Lately it's been Yamaha because they're mostly pretty inexpensive and awesome.

All time would be Gibson because of the mojo but they're too damn much money for my tastes. I'd love to have an old T-Bird or Ripper or RD but alas... I have about a $1k limit on what I'll spend on a bass and have yet to spend more than $600.

Pat Wilkin's basses are Beautifully built, with amazing tone and feel. I have 3 Wilkins Custom PJ's.
