Favourite bass + rig combinations?

My best sounding gig setup so far is my all walnut Spector Woodstock NS-2J SE played thru my Ampeg SVT VR into my Bergantino NV610.

My best studio setup is my Alembic Dragon Wing played thru my Thunderfunk TFB-420 into my Bergantino HT-322.

My fav amp to play through has been my GK. It makes any bass sound at least usable. That being said, I reckon something like a Warwick would really shine through it. Their natural growl, with the perfect mids the GK gives out would be heaven. I'm sure I could use various cabs though. My Laneys let the mids out fairly nicely, and are not terrible in the low end. But I reckon I could still do better. Not played with enough cabs to know any names though.

Man all I can say is that TBers have some awesome gear. No wonder I have GAS and have spent over 5k in gear since joining.

My Alembic Persuader can make pretty much anything sound good. Luckily, it has me around to balance that out. If I had to say, I am partial to GK heads and Heartke cabs (even though I don't own any), but that is one aspect of my tone I have not really explored.

Best tone I remember having was an 80s SVT through 2 "baby SVT" 2X15 cabs loaded with JBLs and a mid 70s P bass with an EMG PJ set, 9v with no EQ. Could have used that to demolish a house if need be. Don't have any of it anymore, and recent hernia surgery confirms it was the right thing to do.
