Are there any good alternatives for a 15/6 crossover parts? Erse and Mills seem to be nice, but with the shipping + VAT + customs duty it almost doubles the total cost, so I'm looking for other brands that are much easier to buy locally (or within the EU).

I couldn't get the car so the cab was the next best thing. This was built mainly with a jigsaw, drill , lots of PL Premium, and spray paint. So don't anyone be scared of trying to make one. My 12/sub should be done by next week-end. That's is mt speaker gets here. I think the online retailer I used may try to dog me. I bought right as the price jumped up and suddenly it was out of stock. By the way this little cab rocks! Thanks GB and all the others for valuable input. And yes the bottle opener works flawlessly!

If you are one of those no bottom happy slappers 300w will probably suffice - a 15/6 pops and cuts right smartly even with only 300w, but if you ever turn the lefterly EQ knob past noon then "step up to 500w", cause the cab can take and to use what is down there you'll want the extra watts.

I ordered from the states. Even with VAT (I didn't pay any customes) the price was still lower than ordering locally - Euro to dollar conversion rate helps a lot here.

I've buried drummers and monitor systems with my 12/6 and G-K 1001 (450 potential watts at 8 ohms). The added sensitivity of the 15/6 makes me think you could do the same with 300 watts.

It's hard to say what will actually work on the gig, so take everything we say knowing each of our ideas about volume is different.

I play in a pretty darn loud classic rock band and I'm using a Carvin BX1200 bridged into a fEARful 15/6. That's 800 watts, although of course I'm never putting that much into it. The last gig I played I was really loud onstage (yet it fit in well with everything) and my volume was just a bit past half way. That was with PA support.

Personally, I wouldn't go any lower than 500 watts, especially if you have no PA support. Even if you don't use it, you'd appreciate the headroom. Someone with a fEARful 15/6 was using a Mesa M9 Carbine and the amphead was hitting it's limit long before he was getting enough volume out of it. That was 450 watts, which I thought for sure would have been enough even for a loud gig.

So I'm not sure what to tell you exactly for your situation. Everyone has their own idea of loud.

I of course, would TRY it with the 300w head before jumping ship to a bigger head, assuming you're talking about 300w into 8ohms, not a head that's 300w but only about 180 into 8ohms. I ran a LMII with a single 15/6 for a number of shows and it kept up nicely...but I won't say that 500w into this cab isn't a beautiful thing.
