When running one cab without a mid, plus one with a mid, is there any reason to have the mid-driver in this orientation vs having the 15/6 rotated so the mid-driver is on top? Just wondering if having it up higher would be good/better/different(?) for projection? Looks to me like the 15s would line up vertically in either orientation.Hi.

I'm guessing altogether its probably in the 20ish pounds range.
A pair of mirror image 15/6 Tube cabs.
Not the prettiest but these are the most solid cabs I ever built.

When I built my BFM cabs, I wrapped the tolex over the front lip, about 1-1/4 inches. It was a clean wrap all the way around the face with no protrusions to notch around.
My fearful 15/6 tubes will be made without the grill standoff trim pieces. So I can get a clean wrap-over of the tolex all the way around the front lip, can I cut the shelf and port divider back 1.25" so they are flush with the face panel without altering the 15/6's performance?
. With the LMII when I dug into my bass I'd get some breakup. Not so with this setup.

I do believe the shorter the port shelf, the higher the tuning.
From greenboy's website...
"That said, in a 15/6 adding an inch of shelf depth takes the tuning about 1.6 Hz lower. Adding 2" takes it about 3 Hz lower, and adding 3" takes it 4.3 Hz lower. You can see that the amount of Hz per inch diminishes as one adds more. That's due to box size getting consecutively a little smaller for each inch of shelf added."

I would think that by shortening it by 1.25" it would raise the tuning about 1.8 to 2.0Hz higher. Not something I would do.
