The Markbass F500 sounds quite good when you dial back the upper mids at around 1K, and boost the low mids slightly at around 200hz, and also widen the low end a touch. You should be able to do the same with with that GK.

Thanks for posting this. I've got a 12/6/1 I hope to have completed in the next week or so. Plan on driving it with an F1, or maybe a TH500. Gonna try them both and see which one delivers the best. But it's nice to know that one can get a good sound from the MB F-series. The F1 is my current favorite micro over the th500. Any input from users who have paired their fEARfuls with the Aggie th500? Any favorite eq settings to start out with? I haven't had too long with that amp yet and any input is welcomed. Thx!

One nice thing with the fEARfuls is that they can handle all the lows you want to throw at them without getting muddy. I think of high-pass filtering as more of a tonal option rather than a requirement for tight bass when you are using the fEARfuls. I've slammed mine with both tube and solid state heads (like the Mesa M6, which of course has no or very little high-pass filtering), and the fEARfuls just eat it up.

Hey Tom, have you tried your Classic 400 with the fEarful yet? If so what are your impressions?

I tried to look through the recent posts to see if anyone else brought it up but... Parts Express and Speaker Hardware have some really great pricing on the 3012LF and 3015LF right now.

Just an FYI if you are thinking about pulling the trigger on a fEARful. I did :)

Add me to the club! I've had the 15/6 for a while. Just added the 15 sub. Wine red tolex. It sounds ridiculously good. Lots of deep, earth rumbling tones that is smooth and crystal clear. Sorry for the not so great picture.

This is gonna' get good!
Think I'll go make some popcorn, then sit back and watch the firestorm.

Those are nice looking cabs...but I'm a bit confused...Is Don either an Authorized commercial fEARful builder or building cabs to fEARful spec?

I think Skies was just calling it like he sees it, and more than a few other people see it too.

I am not sure what the implication is.. I'm not here to get anyone in trouble. I've done business with Don for a while.. and yes, I requested these built to fearful specs. Whats the problem?

But are you sure he built it to spec? Others have made the same request, only to find variances.

And did he pay royalties the same as an authorized builder would?

These cabs are NOT built to fEarful spec. Look at the mid driver placement. Look at the missing half inch of port area.

Reference: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

-mid driver is too far away and too far to the right of center.
-I *believe* if you measure your port you'll see it is 2.5" high and not 3" high, but I can't be sure from that view.

Honestly, I wouldnt know if its built to the fearful spec to a T. When I had my 15/6 made I dont even think there were authorized builders listed on the fearful website. And since I sure as heck dont have the skills to build one myself.. I called upon Don's services. Any "royalties" or legalities on the part of using the fearful spec will have to be dealt with LDS. I was just innocently posting my cabs for everyone to see. Maybe I should delete my OP? I had no idea this would happen.

reggaeman, I don't think anyone is trying to slam you or anything. I just think many have issues with certain companies profiting from the fEARful design while not having an agreement as an authorized builder. Then they take some liberties with the design and it becomes what most would call a nEARful cab. Very close, but not to spec.

Those are some very nice looking cabs, though.
