Aria Becker - 15 year old bassist with Freeze the fall (a kick ass hard rock trio from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada). Aria creates some really cool, moving bass lines throughout FTF's songs.

I don't want to be dismissive, since I'm an old guy and get plenty of discrimination toward me for that from local bands when they find out my age, but yeah, more women playing, larger talent pool, right??

Few females in bands when I started, or they played "weird" instruments or tambourine (?!). Recently, I replaced a female bassist who went to be in an all-female rock band and I play with a 70 year old female drummer who never loses a beat: I play in the rhythm section: that's all I care about.

Times change and so do our preconceptions. I saw it happen to my parents and I've seen it happen to me: even see it happening to my Grand-son. I don't like identity labeling, but I do appreciate people being chosen for their merits, in music or elsewhere.

Yeah, Dei, Wilkenfield, Michelle N. have replaced Glenn Hughes, Squire and Entwhisle as my favs...ain't life strange that way...
