I had never heard of this person until yesterday, when all of a sudden and inexplicably my Facebook feed exploded with multiple reels of her rocking out on that Danelectro longhorn bass while wearing very little clothing
...not that there's anything wrong with that
Okay, but seriously: There is something wrong with that, but I doubt an internet forum for bassists is the place to have that conversation.
I will say that I've never had the speakers turned on when viewing those reels (and since they're only ~5 seconds long I doubt they'd offer much insight into Maneskin's music) so I still have no idea whether De Angelis is any good as a bass player.
I'm just going to come right out, and address it : Danelectro Longhorns are not for everyone.
While it’s not so out of the ordinary to start a thread about it, but is somewhat relevant to this thread, I’ll just mention it here…just received word about a new band with familiar faces(at least to some)coming up soon, Psycher. Featuring Brix Smith(The Fall, Adult Net), Cait O’Riordan(The Pogues), Kathy Valentine(The Go-Go’s), and Linda Pitmon(Zuzu’s Pedals, Steve Wynn, Alejandro Escovedo), the little snippet of music I heard was classic punky. As for who will actually be playing bass between Cait and Kathy, I don’t know since they’ve both performed on guitar as well.
I think they’ve been convening in NYC, where Linda and Steve Wynn live. Brix is American, so who knows where she’s based(I meet her briefly here in Southern CA, where she is from, 20 years ago). Cait can be found all over.
Kathy answered this in comments on an IG post about the band. She said Rocky (Cait) O'Riordan would play bass. Kathy and Brix will be on guitars.
Kathy moved to the UK a while back as well.
Ah, OK, last I heard she was in Austin. And Linda had mentioned that she had been in London recently on Instagram, so I guess it was all going down there. However, there will be a Go-Go’s reunion in May when they play the Cruel World festival in Pasadena…

Yeah, Kathy was in Austin for a good while. I got to see her with the Bluebonnets not too long after that project formed. I got to hang with them a bit afterward. One of those bands that deserved to be bigger than they were.Ah, OK, last I heard she was in Austin. Other than a concern that a prospective woman bassist over the crap ladies can encounter in a bar, past that I could care less as long as she, like anyone auditioning, has the chops and attitude to make the gig.
I've worked with several lady players and enjoyed it, and it's a great relief to have that feminine outlook around. All Good for me.

Aria Becker - 16 year old bassist with Canadian hard rock trio Freeze the Fall. Aria is a great young bassist, who plays very tasteful melodic lines on her Dingwall basses. She and the rest of the band absolutely kill it on their studio recordings and in a live setting. Highly recommend.

Just wanted to mention some info I’ve come across…there’s a new band touring(I don’t know if you could call it a tribute act, but they’re hitting substantial smaller venues), called the Peter Gabriel Project, with Jennifer on bass and now stick…
The thing that irks me about that somewhat is that there was, a few years ago, the Security Project, featuring actual Gabriel drummer Jerry Marotta, with, among others, former King Crimsonite Trey Gunn on the Stick-like Warr Guitar, plus an under-the-radar female vocalist with a style reminiscent of Kate Bush that I’ve known about for years, Happy Rhodes…
