Did you have it properly set up? Sounds like the truss rod just needed a little turn.

I setup all my bass myself, the player P get fret buzz between fret 10-13 on G string while 16mm action measure on 17th Fret.
I have no problem with Squier CV60P and Ibanez SR300E (bought new on April, SR action down to 13-14mm with No such problem with TiJF344, incredible).
My prefer neck relief are 0.010-.0012 on all my bass.

That's a nice looking bass. That pau ferro fretboard looks great too. There's something about sunburst and tortoise shell that I just can't get enough of.

I just got a fender player series jazz bass (3 tone burst and pau ferro fretboard) like last week sometime. and tell ya what I love this thing. plays very nice with minimum tweaking that I did. stock pups sound great too. I admit I have thought about swapping out but honestly don't really need to. I do like the pau ferro fretboard, sure it takes getting used to look wise but tone wise ? I haven't noticed any real difference.

Ordered three to get one that stood out to me. The first two came from Stratosphere and the online pics looked slightly different than what I actually received. The colors didn't look exactly like the images online. The third, one currently on the bass, was ordered from a source outside of the country and was just like I hoped it would be....

I pulled the trigger on the player jaguar bass last week, I've played two gigs on it so far and can say it really is a solid bass. The neck needed a little adjusted and the action was way too high for me but after a tweak played like a dream. Stock pickups are pretty impressive Jazz one was weak but a bridge jazz by it's self is not for everyone.

The red in person too is beautiful and a lot prettier than the advertising photos show.

They also had a white/maple Players Jazz that shocked me when I picked it up, possibly the lightest J I've ever handled. And a buttercream P, that was a nice bass too.

I just ordered one of these from Sweetwater. I love the P bass sound but love the Jazz neck, so I'm hoping this can satisfy my wants. How close to a P bass does the Jag sound when using the P bass pickup only? As long as it's pretty close I think I'll be happy.

Very close indeed. I used it at a loud 5 piece rock rehearsal last night. P solo'd over half the time, nice and juicy fat sounding.

So after two weeks of playing I have some updated information on the Jag player and it's half positive and negative.

The neck and body feels solid and resonates well and lovely finish, P bass pickup pretty much is played soloed with the tone rolled down and sounds great.

The negative I've had a few issues with the saddles dropping down rather fast and on the E string in one minute playing it dropped completely and this wasn't from excessive force or bad hitting. I take the bass for a check up with my bass guy and we had to replace every saddle because the screws were wobbling inside the saddle causing them to drop, I had a look and feel of the saddles before they were binned and they are cheap moulded low quality. The machine heads just about to the job but are very poor and the original factory condition was terrible.

Hopefully it's all good and no more major problems, parts of this bass are great but it's defiantly a Mexican and a bit of a fixie upper, ideally to get this to sing a decent bridge and other upgrades are a must.

You can fix the saddle screw problem with some sewing thread. I did that with a Music Man SUB I owned. Saddles would drop, but once I put some sewing thread with those screws, they never moved one bit. If I ever encounter the same problem with the saddles dropping, I'll do the same thing. Easy fix and not potentially messy like using a glue or nail polish.

Thanks for the information, I'll be sure to do that if needed again, i have put more saddles and screws on there from an old bridge that should fix it but I'll be sure to remeber that trick for next time if they drop.

you can also get a loaded p bass body and jazz bass neck on stratosphere. the neck pockets are the same
