Fender 8K+ Custom Shop Precision: Yea or Nay

a hard time convincing me to spend Fodera money on a Fender, even if it IS a master luthier built Custom Shop. I'd want something much more "custom" than a Fender for that kind of scratch.
Exactamondo. Besides, isn't the point of owning a Fender the fact that they are all kinda garbage, and you either find the diamond in the rough or you beat it into one.

Yeah you could do worse than a George Harrison replica. That was just the first expensive CS fender that I've seen locally that I thought of. Then I saw that abomination that I posted after. Not sure why anyone would buy that red one.

I always think of George and Strats in terms of the white one he played at Concert For Bangladesh. But I looked up pix from the 74 tour, and he played everything (including the sig Strat).

I had a bootleg of this tour, his voice was shredded wheat.
In fact, he blew his voice out the week prior to the tour while rushing the Dark Horse album.
Check out his voice on this b-side from those pre-tour sessions.

But I digress....

Honestly.. there's no way I'm spending 8 G's on any bass.. but contrary to many opinions in the thread I do like the art. I'd play it.. if it was given to me, because I don't need another P-bass and if I did it would be under two grand, if not less than a grand lol.
