The Aerodyne has a PJ configuration, that means a Volume for the P + Volume for the J + general master tone, that being said, and since you dont seem to be very comfortable about selectin pots, you could get some great quality pre-wired J bass electronics, the J bass has the same features 2 pickup volumes and a master tone.
I went with a Mojotone prewired for my PJ, great stuff. Hope it helped, any question just ask.

It may not be the pots. I don't know enough about it to say. The tone and P volume are scratchy. The J volume is completely useless. There must be a bad connection or grounding in there. It just hums violently and doesn't get louder until the very last 10%. Luckily, I don't ever use the J pickup anyway. I would still like it to work, though.
I'm not just going to replace the pots without knowing I have to. But I want to know what to order if I do. I'll probably have someone diagnose it, since I want to have some other work done on it anyway.
my strat was having same issues turned out to be cable jack was just twisted inside...very easy fix is your cable hard to plug in or pull out? if so i would start with that
Check the soldering on each pot, look if any wires are partially broken.
Check mass at bridge, spread out the individual wires for better grounding. Also rough up the surface under the bridge by scratching it where the ground wire would touch.
Spray electrical contact cleaner (I use CRC brand professionally) into the pot shafts and turn the knobs fully in each direction multiple times.
If after all that your pots still don't work, then replace.

I recently copper shielded my pickup and control cavity on my Aerodyne. I see it has mini pots, and I think the cavity is too narrow for full size pots. That's something for you to consider. And also, on my basses I prefer a volume, a tone, and a blend pot. Not the regular 2 volumes and atone pot. Something more for you to think about

I used the Aerodyne most of the night, so it had the wireless transmitter on it's strap. I get in enough trouble without a vibrato equipped bass! HA
During soundcheck / setup, the minute I fired up my rig whilst playing my EMG Geezer pickup equipped Aero, the soundguy, who was on stage at the time turned to me, mouth open, and said, "Damn that sounds great"!
It was a tad gratifying.

I put a geezer in a Squier and it sounds HUGE. You are giving me some ideas!
Did it to my Aerodyne. Love it. Geezer J pickup is quieter and beefier than stock, and P is a little more old-school than the original, different flavor of good. My best upgrade of several.I put a geezer in a Squier and it sounds HUGE. You are giving me some ideas!
Of course, the Aerodyne is a kickass bass right out of the gate! But they are easy to tweak and I like individualizing stuff sometimes.
