They appear to be MIJ. I made a bad guess based on price point...and I was wrong!

Fender site says made in Japan. 12 inch radius and with markers on the fretboard. Babicz bridge. Looks like same body shape, still basswood. They have the regular Aerodynes on the site too, now for $894 va $1349 for the "Special".

Hard pass at that price.

It's not dissimilar to the price hike on the Player Specials vs. ordinary Player models, IMO. And prices have gone up across the board worldwide. With the quality coming out of Fender Japan, it's still a better deal than most of the US models. If I needed another bass I could go for the Dolphin Gray one.

Here’s big ol’ bucket of “wishful thinking”…

I wanna live long enough to see FMIC create a full-on and permanent Aerodyne Series, just like the Players, Professionals, Ultras, etc. Imagine a full complement of Aerodyne J’s, P’s, Jags, even Mustangs, alongside the usual variety of six-stringers and such. Wouldn’t that be a sight?!

I'm getting that California Blue model. I've always liked the Aerodynes but can't stand all-black instruments. I like bright colors and/or fancy wood tops. This blue with the white pickups and chrome hardware screams out for me! I've already texted my Sweetwater rep about getting one.

I'm glad they're making more aeros, but those really just remind me of the Charvel San Dimas series. Not entirely bad, but I would rather see the non-export styles and I would buy a five string immediately.

That's the very first thought that came to mind. I do like the Dolphin Grey one that was posted above.

I suppose it's pretty telling about people's burning desire for an Aerodyne Precision that the Bright White model is already sold out, despite not even getting past the pre-order phase.

Oh, and as per their website...

They really are. P-Bass pickup about 3/4" closer to the neck retains the P-bass tone, but makes it sound deeper. I like mine a lot for rock gigs.

Here’s mine. During COVID I brought a stand to the living room and put on a few basses. I found if a bass in every room, almost it makes me pick it up and mess around.
I put these block stickers on the neck, not a good job tho, oh well they come off. Also a chrome Badass bridge. Since the pic I also had some Schaller tuners put on, chrome to match the bridge. The original set seemed to not keep me in tune ??? The new set does.
My Custom Shop bass would be an Aerodyne. White with black. Made of alder, rosewood board in a light shade with blocks, badass bridge, Seymour Duncan Hot Stack in the bridge position, Dunlop strap locks, maybe a Hipshot drop on the E string, Different knobs. Maybe like traditional Jazz type ? I’m not impressed with the Aerodyne’s just introduced. Just my taste. Not bad but……. So am I in the club ?
