It does look seriously good doesn't it? If it had a fifth string I'd have bought it!!! If I had to find a fault it would not be the first time I've tried a J with a rich, nasal bridge pickup... but no quack to the sound like I have on my Ultra. That aside. It's a beast. Wish the action had been lower.

They finally did it. I’ve been playing p basses for the last 11 years my number one complaint is the neck pocket every time they made a new bass they had it unless you bought the ultra or deluxe. They finally got it right now hopefully the pickups aren’t a failure. Little inside an American deluxe p bass has the same feel and almost same neck I own one. If you buy a older one and make it passive you save about 500 dollars.

It has been very quiet about these new Fenders around here. Are they not selling too well? Or are they simply not worth discussing, like "not bad but not particularly exciting either"? At least that would be a huge improvement over the original AmPro series with their abysmal QC... some of the stuff I saw on those was absolutely shocking!
I'm particularly interested in any info on the V-Mod II. Did they get it right this time or is the difference in tone/timbre/dynamics between the Alnico II/V coils still too noticable? Does the tone of the E-string still fall apart when you dig in like on the original V-Mods?

Seems that blue, especially Royal Blue or electric blue, is the color of 2020.

So I finally got the bass in the mail it was almost perfectly set up I had to lower it a little more and lower the pickups but out of the box it sounded really good I can see why a lot of people hate the pick ups if the strings are too low and buzz you get this terrible hi pitch noise but if it’s not you won’t have it. For what I do these pickups work for me I can honestly say I really like this bass in and out. I also use a Cali 76tx and it adds more thickness to the sound of the bass and just works for what I do all in all I’m really happy with my purchase.

So after the hype of getting a new bass has passed and the strings are now dead I can give a honest review on this bass the neck is beautiful it plays better than most p basses I’ve played in the past. The weight is okay it a bit heavier than my other bass not a issue there it stays in tune real well and I love that. The thing that is starting to show tho is the pickups they do not sound good with dead strings at all. Very boomy sounding still cuts through the mix just too much bass I like the output these things are loud! I’ve come to conclusion that I will be replacing the pickup with my go to pickup nordstrand npv4 with the v magnets it’ll brighten this up and over all give it more of the sound and feel I like in a p bass easy fix wish fender would work with someone else on pickups tho. I get it they want a modern twist with this bass it just so happens that a lot of p players out there like a p to sound like a p. The one thing that really stands out on this bass is the bridge I love that high massive bridge with the string through I’m definitely going to replace my old bass with this bridge once I finish putting the new pickup in this one. I’ll report back once I get the new pickup and say more
Got my eye on the 3T sunburst / tort 5 string Jazz,Sweetwater notified me they had arrived but when I went to the site they were already sold out, did anyone here get one ?
