Dig that burst! Seems different to the standards.
It's probably the same as the Am. Std.'s. Sometimes the lighting in my place gets a bit crazy.

Dig that burst! Seems different to the standards.
Do the pole pieces on the new Professional pickups protrude or are they flush with the rest of the pickup?
@Son of Wobble, I've played an Elite repeatedly at GC and gave some thought to buying it during a sale. The necks are indeed sweet. You should give it a try in person if possible. If you like a compound radius, quartersawn neck but prefer passive, there are some nice American Select Ps out there to be had on the used market.
Has anyone here played the new Elite?
I am a passive bass guy so I don't need the bells and whistles, but recently read that the model's compound neck radius is to die for, the "feature you didn't know you needed."
Anyone own or played the new Elite?
And that's it!There is one little noticeable change on the two heads, Am. Std./Am. Pro. The color of the inside of the name Fender on the decal on the Am. Std. was a darker color, than the lighter, brighter color of the name Fender Am. Pro. head decal. The Am. Std. top, Am. Pro. bottom.
And that's it!![]()
Yes. It's probably been quite a while since they changed the dimensions, etc. of the body. Will American Standard Jazz pickgaurds fit on the Professionals?

View attachment 1161614 Picked up my American Pro P today. Swapped out the mint green pickguard for the black. Loving the sound and feel of it so far! I play 4 sets at church this weekend, can't wait to see how it does.
Question for Am. Pro. owners...
I'd like to assemble a P bass with a jazz bass neck...
I found a good Am. Pro. body but i can't find any Am. Pro. jazz necks with rosewood figerboard (for me mandatory now).
Question is: can I couple a Am. Std. jazz bass neck with the Am. Pro. P bass body instead?
Will the screw holes align without leaving too noticeable gaps between the neck heel and the neck pocket?
Thanks.
Nobody has got direct experience in this regard or read an artcile from Fender?
