I rather doubt that many here have had opportunity or inclination to remove the neck from their new pro series and replace it with last year's model. So you are likely the "canary in the coal mine" for this test, at least on this thread.

I have six USA and MIM Precisions from different decades and a fretless MIM Fender jazz neck, and I swap them all regularly. None of the combinations results in a sloppy pocket.
I have not read anyrhing suggesting neck pockets have changed, and people are reporting successful pickguard swaps, so I predict a perfect fit.

As for your question about Fender's proffered technical articles: Hahahahaha

AHHAHA you're right .. i've tried .. anyway I ordered both the P bass Pro body and the J bass Std. neck + tuners ... we'll see... I'll keep the forum posted about the developments ... hope it will be a nice NBD!

2016... CITES should be a problem of the shipper presumably... it was also very figured ... very beautiful to be honest

Just out of curiosity, did you ask Stratosphere about the compatibility of the two parts? Does Stratosphere offer such tech support?

I know that the new P bass neck is a departure from the New American Standard profile.... But again, such variances do not affect the heel of the neck.... And the fact that yours is a 2016, and made at the peak of recent quality control, only strengthens my suspicions that the parts will be a perfect fit. Look forward to the photos.

Ok sure ... I asked the question at the guys at STRATOsphere but they were likely off from yesterday evening so I didn't yet receive any answer ... after that I was assailed by a massive attack of GAS and I pulled the trigger ... KA-BOOM

Just got mine today! Love the feel of the neck. Excellent fit and finish! Did not like the Pickgaurd nor did I like the Pickups they were a bit blah for my taste they will probably find there way to the classifieds! Replaced them with the Fender Pure Vintage '64 Jazz pickups which are amazing pickups along with some Sunbeams and now it sounds killer!

I'm sticking with the stock pickups. They work for me and gives me a sound that differs from my other Precision.

Hey yall...am I supposed to take off the neck to adjust the truss with this straight wrench that came with the bass? It looks like it's a weird angle

Yeah but the shaft rubs the pickguard...it turns but I'm paranoid about the angle. I googled but didn't see an answer. Would be cool if this thing had an angle

I just bevel the pickguard a bit to give me more clearance.

That's how i adjust mine. Just turn it slow and make sure it's in there good before turning. If you're not comfortable with that, you could loosen the strings a lot and loosen the neck like the old school fenders.

Love them. I didn't hate the V-Mods but, I do like how the Aguilars sit in the mix better.
