I have a 250/115 I bought a couple of years ago new. For the kind of shows I play (don't need massive volume) it works great.
Check out any maintenance bulletins there might be on those Fender combos. I had to have every control knob and the on/off switch replaced (under warrantee). The master control knob was really bad, popped and spit from the day I got it home.
heres a crappy phone pic of the fender head i just got. it blows doors on just about every amp ive ever played except for the svt. so lets say its the 2nd best sounding... i went on and on about it in a separate thread, so ill spare you. really warm, tube drive mixed with 600 watts of solid state punch and precision. its a pro head. eric avery rocks these heads now with the janes addiction reunion tour.
I agree, pez123, I had a Bassman 25 that really didn't do it for me at all. Then again, the only low-powered combo I've ever heard from any manufacturer that sounded good is the Ampeg B-50R.
The Bassman 250/115 I had, on the other hand, sounded really, really good.
