Fender Bassman 100T - chapter 2

If you say you sold your Berg after getting it, then that tells me what I need to know. Never tried the NV610, but the NV215 was the best cab I've ever owned.

Aguilar looks impressive but at 98lbs, that's a deal breaker. I'm tired of lugging heavy cabs.

Also, in case anybody is interested, I've been looking into getting a nice flight case for my 100t. I saw ev rodriguez posted about Safe Cases in Houston and I inquired about two possibilities; here's the quote:

Birch ply with ABS Laminate
1" Thick Ester Foam with Plank Foam for the Base Section
Aluminum tongue and groove
Double Angle Extrusion provides a Strong Built Frame
4 Large Recessed Latches for Maximum Strength
3 Recessed Handles with 3/4" Rubber Grip with Bail Stops at 90°
8 Steel Ball corners
All steel rivets backed up with Steel backing washers

Case w/ No Wheels/ Handle
1/4" ply in black, blue, red, purple, or orange................$189/ free shipping
3/8" ply in black................$220/ free shipping

Case w/ Wheels/ Rectractable Handle
1/4" ply in black, blue, red, purple, or orange................$265/ $38 shipping
3/8" ply in black................$275/ $38 shipping

Seems pretty reasonable to me. Does anybody have any other options they feel are worth mentioning?

I'm a neo 610 convert, Denton 57. I also like it because with the 100T it moves a little more air than a 410, although no-one seems to have a problem with the 410 (which is not readily available here anyway). BTW I still have a Bergantino 215 - best Berg cab ever IMO.
When I did the side by side comparison with the Fender neo 610 and the Berg 610 I could fairly easily eq the Fender to nail the Berg sound, plus the Fender seemed more versatile with extended highs and lows. The crossover in the Fender cab is seamless to my ears, very natural.

Just pulled the trigger and ordered the 100t.. As this is a small northern Ontario town (Canada), I was informed, through hearing the store owner talking with the Fender rep. that the heads are back ordered and will take between 60-90 days for arrival. :bawl:

I put down a sizeable down payment and the wait begins. Thanks to the posters on this thread for "stokin'' my G.A.S.

I think that you'll find it to be worth the wait. Play it loud...it sounds better that way :D

The hope of playing the 100t loud to sound better is exactly why I chose it over the 300.. Freight Train also strongly espoused the merits of power tube saturation. I'm getting ' gooey' thinking about the tube gooeyness..ha,ha

Hey T.O. Alex, Thanks for the offer. Really solid of you!:bassist: This purchase has restricted, or at least, impeded, 800 km trips for the remainder of the summer I'm afraid ;).

Looking forward to this arrival. It should look good atop my Hartke Hydrive 410.

Is that the town in north Ontario with dream comfort memory to spare?

2 days until my 410 NEO arrives. Smoking good deal through Musicians Friend (I used the email listed in the Hot Deals section here on TB). Have gig Sat night in a good sized room at a local bar/restaurant and a corporate type event next Thursday. Should be a good test with two totally different environments/rooms.

Can't wait!

Neil Young grew up in a small (less than 2,000 population) community known as Omemee, and he admitted in a 1995 Mojo interview with Nick Kent that this community is the “town in north Ontario” referenced in the song “Helpless."

“Well, it’s not literally a specific town so much as a feeling. Actually, it’s a couple of towns. Omemee, Ontario, is one of them. It’s where I first went to school and spent my ‘formative’ years. Actually I was born in Toronto…” (quote)

Hope that helps.. So, no it is not Sault Ste. Marie. Either way, I'm excited for the 100t to arrive. Looking at the new Ampeg 100 watt offering, my gut is telling me I made the right choice.. I just won't ask JimmyM for his opinion. ;)

Yeah, I knew about Omemee. I thought maybe that's where your are.

Received 410 NEO today while at work. Ran home at lunch to open it up and play a few notes just to make sure it works. Sounds great, and the speakers aren't even broken in yet. Looks FANTASTIC with the head. Also, it's deeper than I thought it would be, which is great actually. I can sit my small fan easily on the overhang in back to keep things cool back there.
