I've used mine as a bass monitor and got more than enough volume for playing in a large church with a really big stage.Okay I've spent a long time reading this thread and I haven't seen anyone specifically address how this amp handles the low b.
Hi Freight Train, this must be very frustrating for you. Forgive me for asking the obvious as I know you are very knowledgeable about this head, but I assume you still had the Winged Cs in it??? No doubt your next step will be to swap the GTs back in? I ask this because as I have stated earlier I ended up much preferring the original tubes over the Winged Cs in my 100T, and there was quite a difference.I was finally able to talk to the person who's opinion I value most, and who has been to most of the gigs we've played at last week's venue, and he verified that, even though it was plenty loud, my amp in no way had the character or tone he had heard at the previous gigs. So if nothing else I know I'm not talking myself into the fact that the sound of the amp has changed radically.
Yes, that is exactly what I'm doing. I've ordered a replacement GT to replace the one that blew so I can remove the variable of the different tubes. Otherwise there's no way of knowing if what I'm hearing that I don't like is the tubes or a broken amp.Hi Freight Train, this must be very frustrating for you. Shwa - Yes. One half of 12AX7 V1 is the first stage for both channels. The 2nd half of V1 is the final output stage of the vintage channel and is part of its 'bright' circuit. Both halves of V2 are in the overdrive circuit of the overdrive channel.also, are there preamp tubes in the vintage channel?
Thanks for your reply. It's helpful. Is the low b clean or kind of farty.I've used mine as a bass monitor and got more than enough volume for playing in a large church with a really big stage.

The amp is fine. Worry about the cab and bass you use with it.Thanks for your reply. It's helpful. Is the low b clean or kind of farty.
Not bad at all - I'd say my Glockenklang > Accugroove Tri115 is a bit cleaner but I do like the tube sound that the Fender has and the two rigs are SUPPOSED to sound different. I do occasionally pedal a low B at the end of a song and the Fender certainly has good tone with the low B.Thanks for your reply. It's helpful. Is the low b clean or kind of farty.
Haven't played one. But I've heard nothing but good reports on em.
My local has one in store and it's sitting right next to the Bassman Neo 115 that I returned. It's a little squatter and a fair bit lighter weight.
Yet the Bassman has a neo driver and the Rumble 115 has a ceramic driver.
So Boise Guitar Center doesn't have one of these, but they have an all tube 200 Watt Orange head I played through the other day. I didn't have my bass or any there like my bass and it seemed to fart out on the low b at a fairly low volume. This is a $2200 head. Also I was thinking of using the 100T as a preamp in studio mode for a high wattage solid state head. Seems like it would work and I wouldn't be relying on tubes for volume thus bypassing the whole issue of fartiness. I would just dial in the clean tube sound and not over drive it.So Boise Guitar Center doesn't have one of these, but they have an all tube 200 Watt Orange head I played through the other day. I have an orange ad200 and have owned a 100T. No way is this typical of either amp. The Orange can go very loud and stay clean if you dime the master and use the gain for volume. Similarly the 100T, although I feel it has less clean headroom than the Orange which you might expect given the power difference. So Boise Guitar Center doesn't have one of these, but they have an all tube 200 Watt Orange head I played through the other day. I've pushed mine to the point it farted out but it was LOUD! FWIW, I was playing at a church with a full band (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drumset, piano, B3, percussionist, upright bass, 5-7 horns, and a few strings) in an auditorium that seats about 1300'ish. I do have to say that I get more volume out of the Genz/Accugroove rig but I had no problem keeping up with the band with my Fender rig. The PA in that church runs in the vicinity of 14k watts. So Boise Guitar Center doesn't have one of these, but they have an all tube 200 Watt Orange head I played through the other day.
