Fender Bassman Pedals

the fuzz looks intriguing here, esp the potential versatility with the voice switch.

I have no need for delay and reverb, but those are both offerings underserved in the bass pedal market, so hopefully they fill a void for many folx.
FYI, these are definitely Bass pedals. They do sound good on guitar as well, but they were designed specifically with bass players in mind.

I keep hoping for a fender sublime re-housing… greatest fuzz ever in the most absurd housing!
This new Bassman Fuzz is based on the Sublime Fuzz circuit.

A Sub-Lime fuzz is sitting in my basket with a “local” bass shop which I literally found after a search for demos of this! Saw the fender video and now it’s been revealed that this new unit is based on the SL what to do!! The SL is only about 25 bucks more but it’s huge. Might order the bassman fuzz first

I thought the Drive and Fuzz sounded great; delay and reverb is incredibly interesting but I don't know if it's something I'd use.
Exactly what I thought. I sure wouldn't mind if Fender added models for these pedals to the Rumble Studio 40/Stage 800 amps with a software update... Drive and Fuzz seem like they would sound great in a relatively dense mix with guitars and drums.

The Drive being based off of the tube drive circuit in their modern bassmans I don't see why they couldn't. I had a 500 for years and the drive channel is where I lived most of the time so the pedal certainly has me thinking.

If a pedal sounds good it is good... but am I the only one that thinks that all 4 of these pedals are the exact same inside (AD convertor, DSP chip, DA) just with different firmware? (a bunch of other companies do this, but at least TC has a pedal that allows all the algorithms on it)

Any way to confirm if they are digital effects??

Manual says 85ma for power to the drive and fuzz… if digital it would take the appeal out then to be honest…

I’m not sure.. they show the gut shots in the video and when discussing the drive they talk about replacing tubes with FETs, so that doesn’t sound like a digital design to me; and the fuzz is a circuit based on the Sublime so again not necessarily digital.

I do wonder if they put the same power draw for all of them as they digital delays and reverbs and whether or not that changes when these actually get released. The only thing that I could see needing more power than usual is the bypassing mechanism maybe??

Where did you get that information?

It's in the video, and I'm also the Director of Product Management for Fender Amps & Electronics.

If you have any questions about these pedals, or any other Fender Bass gear I'm happy to assist.
I may not know the answers to all the questions, but I will almost always know someone who does.

The Fuzz, Driver and Comp are all analog. They all have a soft-touch relay true bypass which increases the current draw a bit.

The delay and reverb, of course, are digital.

A couple interesting bass-specific notes from the engineer that designed these.

"The BLEND control on the fuzz and driver has a LPF to avoid the high frequencies from poking out and clanking on top of the drive sound. On the fuzz, the filter obviously is tied to the focus control (inverse of the HPF for the wet signal). For the comp, the blend control is full range."
