I inquired, Fender Custom Shop gives 1 year time frame…. Seems crazy long time. Who can plan that long ahead? And it means 1 year is a rough guess. And quite spendy. I thought, no thanks! Maybe after all the pandemic and economy hang ups are over it’ll all get more reasonable.

Yeah, but it has to be done after the sale.

Let's face it, you're paying a lot of extra money for the Fender Custom Shop logo plus the "experience" of ordering a FCS and that "experience" has turned out to be poor.

Yes, you should be treated as a preferred customer.

You could've hunted down and been holding to a vintage Fender bass by now. ... Personally, I've yet to play a CS I'd pay that much to own. ... Try going back to the dealer and ask for your money back, I guess you've left a deposit? Maybe he can get them moving on that because a year and a half seems an excessive amount of time.

John, did you ever ask for pics of where your build was currently? I know some luthiers provide this, with longer build times... at least allowing the carrot to be nibbled on and enjoyed... if you're into carrots, that is.

I’ve played some very expensive vintage Js and Ps with at least one dead note on its neck. I’d take a new CS over a vintage nine times out of ten.
