Well, I don't know if he had one with him. What Jim Swain said was, "I randomly picked one that was running 8 lbs 14 oz.," which does sound like he was looking at basses that were already made and that he had several to pick from. Now, he could have been looking at stock online that listed several by weight. Total speculation on my part. This message from him was July 6 so a little more than 3 weeks.

I agree, it’s somehow “bluer”, yes, which I also tend to like better than the faded one
I would have purchased one a long time ago had it not been the faded Sonic Blue and just regular Sonic Blue. I have similar feelings about the Shell Pink jazz bass. I've had ball jersey's come out pinker in the wash.
Just picked this one up, has interesting specs.

Anodized guard that's actually copper gold instead of the less saturated yellowish color on most.
Like a cross between a 57 and a 59. I've owned quite a few of these CS basses over the years and this one is probably the most percussive sounding precision I've played, it's awesome!

I have yet to see the hootenanny button on a FCS bass as that spot is normally reserved for the CS logo.

66 jazz journeyman, sonic blue with matching headstock. Dots and binding.
Handwound pickups which seriously may very well be the nicest tone I have ever heard come out of a jazz bass. Holy cow!

I managed to get a '96 Cunetto from a pro player in Nashville. The Relic job is far superior to my 2018 CS Precision.
I wish something exactly like that would show up at my home.
I seriously could not have resisted that bass. I'm a p-bass guy but know at some point I'd like to have a Jazz. That would have been the Jazz. Big Congratulations!!! I will now commence to looking for its twin. Thank you for the GAS. 
I felt exactly the same way....I love the ‘66 transition look...I got an old Jazz a couple of months ago, but I still have my eyes on another FCS Jazz...I wish something exactly like that would show up at my home.
