You might even need to use a custom shop bass as a shovel to get down there. But the covers might clog up and get in the way.
Jamming some Meshell on my CS 1960 P today. Check her out if you're not hip...her records are laced with exquisite bass parts.

I have a preamp for sale and someone wants to trade his bass for it. He says it's a custom shop jazz body with a allparts neck on it. Here is a picture of the neck pocket with a number ah171. I doubt it's real. What do you guy's think? Never heard off serial numbers ah...

I've said this before but it's worth repeating when needed.
During my Years at Fender part of my Mission was to attend "Guitar Shows". It was VERY common......ten or 15 times per show......for me to walk up to a booth and find a dealer either selling Fake Fender Decals or crouching down and applying Fender decals to "Hondo Instruments"....and then selling them to unsuspecting customers as the real deal..... for Big $$$$ . In a way it's rather similar to guys who purchase "Heavy Relics" and then pretend to be Rock Stars who've played 10,000 Concerts all over the planet.
Need I say more?

Quick question about CS delivery dates.
I made an order in Nov2020 for a custom shop bass and was given a delivery date of Sept2021.
I checked the date and I was confirmed several times throughout the year as late as last month. Moreover, when I asked for a pickup change last month I was told the bass is in final stages and that they can’t do changes.
SURPRISE SURPRISE - today I get a call informing me the bass is delayed until Feb2022…. I’m really pissed off. Almost $6k on a bass and this dishonesty on delivery dates and current status.
What are my options at this point? I want to cancel the order just due to this customer service!

I feel your frustration... 16 years ago, mine was delayed a few times, but not for that long... I also have a Wal on order now that is "so far" running on time but I know they upped their lead times to 4 years now so clearly they're also backed up... my Aguilar DB751 order is also in perpetual delay mode... supply chain? Who knows... I'd wait though and maybe ask your dealer for a discount ... it's wroth the wait.
I ordered March 2020. I’ve had the delivery date pushed back a few times. My dealer hasn’t once communicated with me. I’ve found that to be the only frustrating part of the process.
The CS has been cool though.

By the time your bass is delivered , I would have lost interest and want something different!....I feel your pain
Is there anything I can do about such a deal? The dealer cannot commit Feb2022 is final and I can’t believe they can hold my money (bass already paid in full) hostage to their date without either committing to a date and enduring penalties if they don’t - or letting me cancel the deal.

Sorry to hear about the build delay. I hope you are able to get the pickup you want considering you are now waiting an extra 5 months. Is this a COVID related supply chain thing with any parts or wood? Maybe your dealer can start getting some answers for you.
