Fender Custom Shop Club

I just picked up my first CS 63’ P bass (Sonic Blue). I played and tried a few custom shops the past few years, but this one has the Mojo!! Once I played it, I knew I had to have it.

Besides the CS Pino, does anyone know what strings come standard with the CS Basses?

Wow, cracking bass, congrats!
Mine has the ‘R’ serial neck plate too, I have noticed it doesn’t show the ‘custom shop’ logo you see on ‘CZ’ serial neck plates.

OK here are a couple not-so-great pics of my herd up until this point.

From left to right is..

MIM Lake Placid Blue P - Not CS but my first bass that my dad bought me when I was a kid so I'll always include it.
CS '58 3TB Heavy Relic P
CS '62 Fiesta Red Pino Palladino Signature P
CS '61 Lake Placid Blue Heavy Relic Jazz
CS '63 3TB Heavy Relic P

I have an unintentional chronological collection so I guess a '59 and '60 are next. I also love Souldier straps, as you can tell.

You got it bad man!! I feel pretty decadent owning three, one of which is a twin of your LBP 60, my favorite. Are they sleeping in a crib?

great looking bass. Let me know if you find out what strings are on it. I got a bass a while back looks like the same strings, idk what they are..

Been playing a couple precisions this weekend trying to find a FCS P to go with my FCS J. Narrowed it down to do local ones for sale, was wondering what the club thought of them. First is a one of the limited edition Precision Jazz models (p body with a 65-70 precision pickup and jazz neck), bound and blocked with matching headstock and lollipop tuners.

The other is a more classic/vintage precision in aged Sherwood metallic with a 62 precision pickup.

Both are amazing. Sonically the Sherwood with the 62 pick up seems to have that deeper tone, compared to some more sizzle on the Candy Apple Red. So I'm torn between going down the pure precision route, or getting something more unique (with the exact same neck that I already own).

Here is my jazz for comparison.

That first bass looks an awful lot like my Masterbuilt '68 Precision Journeyman Relic I had built by Dennis Galuszka last year.
