Fender Custom Shop Club

Found that sweet '07 Fender Jazz Bass 1964 Reissue (N.O.S.) about a month ago and just realized this Club exist!

Can I have #59 please? Thanks! These are the 2103 Fender CS Closet Classic Precision Bass Pro model. Each has a pair of Seymour Duncan CS 51 P-Bass stack pickups (Same pup as the CS Dusty Hill), RSD Bridge and quartersawn neck. Sounds amazing with TI Jazz flats. I liked the first one so much that I bought another thinking I might put some rounds, tapewounds, or maybe a fretless neck on it. They came stock with the white pickguard, which I didn't like very much, so I removed the guard and added ABM chrome control plates. Please excuse the crappy pics...I need to learn to take good photos like most of you.

That looks like a '58 AVRI. I tried the new '50s American Original at a music store but did not like the neck at all (too fat). So, I am thinking I will not like the '58 AVRI as well.

Yes, I've communicated with both, but their prices are higher than what these basses typically go for around here. The one in the SF area is also in Fender's records as a NOS (and the COA states the same), but the pictures of the body show that it is a relic, and it has been in the store for 12+ years.

I was hoping that someone here may have one that they are interested in selling.

Are you referring to the “Relic” stamps on the body and neck..? Because FCS stamps all of their stuff “Relic” regardless of condition AFAIK..the prices are high, but perhaps you can call the shop and negotiate further, especially on a bass that’s been sitting there forever..sometimes they’ll drop the price because they don’t have to pay the eBay fees in order to sell it through the website...I’ve definitely pulled that move before...you’re right, though...you’ll never find a better deal than here buying off of a GAS fiend..
