Fender deluxe PJ smokes MIA imo

You consider this neck to be big? I feel just the opposite. I find the neck to be small compared with just about any P bass. Still, the neck is very nice, but feels small to me. I've been modding mine to shed weight and got it down to 8 1/2 pounds. Definitely a beauty.
I consider the neck of the P bass to big thats why im so stoked on the 70s Jazz neck. My racks in at 10even, I would love to watch her slim down a bit.... we got married and she just let herself go...

I had three with Jazz size necks (1.5" at nut). Thought I'd try something different. We'll see how it goes....sounds good, if I can acclimate to the neck. Glad I didn't get the P bass with the huge neck though.....50s?

I imagine it's tuff to know. I have no idea what pickup is in this "new" p bass (haven't opened it up or know if it would even say). Just because it was sold with a certain type doesn't mean it's still in there.

Thanks!

I just ordered mine from MF, $679.99 on its way tomorrow. 15% off on Thanksgiving, they have a blemished model for 639.99 not sure if they'll do the 15% on that. Strange it doesn't come with a gig bag though. All GCs in Phoenix area have them at $849 and website says $799. I can't wait for it to arrive.

Dude. I just was at a GC about 5 hours ago and the seafoam PJDlx called to me. I don't understand it! I've never liked the standard P with pickguard look (I like them with the 51 tele type guard much more), and that color is normally not even close to my bag, but there was something about it. I picked it up and was surprised to find a great player with fresh strings and a great unamplified sound! My daughter just kept frowning at me and telling me the color was no good for me. LOL. Maybe brand new, but I'd LOVE to get one in that color nice and relic'd, I think.

I also have one of the original run passives from 2001....it's a stunner in fit and finish. It's been my only bass for almost 15 years. Don't see a reason to own another when this one's been so reliable...but man those black block inlays on the seafoam green model are AMAZING. GAS be callin' for the first time in awhile!
