Two Guitar Centers in my area, not the GC five minutes away, unfortunately, have them hanging up.
Well, you're not that close to the Plymouth Meeting Pa GC or the one in Totowa, NJ but you can always order it online and GC will send it to your store.
Fortunately, I'll be in Totowa on Thursday so I can try it out...unfortunately, I can't afford it until after the holidays.
I'm in Allentown, 5 minutes from the GC in Whitehall..but when I lived in Jersey the Guitar Center on Rt 18 was the first GC I ever visited.
On Thursday night I go to the auto auction in Fairfield a few miles down Rt 36 from theTotowa GC and I go to the Manville auction Thursday during the day, 10 minutes from the Raritan GC.
I just sold my active one to a buddy who fell in love with it. I didn't like the stock elecs at all, so I went to Bart pickups and a Bart two-band active/passive pre, and then ultimately to Nordstrand pickups which I liked even more. It was very nicely built, played great, weighed 8lbs, 14oz. The black guard really made it pop, everyone who saw it went gaga over it. Yet another very nice MIM Fender that made its way through my herd. I'll no doubt regret selling this gem someday, but I have other PJ basses that I like more, so off it went.

The black pg is the absolute "right" color for that bass. I wouldn't have thought so if someone suggested it, until I saw yours.I just sold my active one to a buddy who fell in love with it. If it sets up nicely, why not pull the guts and swap in a passive pup set instead, with a new pickguard? The EMG Geezers would be a good choice, and they come with volume and tone pots, a new output jack, and all the quick connectors. My main player is the 2011 FSR that looks exactly like it but active. I'm really close to adding a bypass switch to it. Wonder if it would be easier just to sell it and get this one...
Thoughts?
Just to save others the trouble of looking for a demo:
Great, now there's yet another Precision I want. Someone stop the insanity!
More dissin the price of MIA. $1600.. That said my fav bass is a 77 p with maple fret.Glad you like your new bass, just don't dis MIA basses in the process. Now having said that, Sea Foam green is one of my favorite colors. Congrats on the new bass.
It really is heavy as hell. I weighed it, 10 flat.I tried and liked it a lot. The only thing I didn't like was it felt a little on the heavier side, but still a good deal. congrats!

EDIT: You could keep the stock pg, and just have the side jack be unused, or wire it using the side jack and buy a new pg.

If I do buy the passive model at GC the first thing I do is put on some D'Addario black tapewounds and a black pickguard.I just sold my active one to a buddy who fell in love with it.
