I'll join the fun. This is my Squier P. My first bass. It was originally black with a rosewood fretboard. I have since stripped the body to its natural state, replaced the pups three times settling on whats in there now, active EMG-PAX's, replaced the neck with a Mighty Mite maple fretboard and neck, replaced the bridge for a blacked out BA II, I used to have a chrome on there, black tuners and new gem knobs. Not sure the gem knobs will stay or not but I think they look good with the natural color.

I've never really thought of this one as a Frankenstein (at least compared to my parts-bin P), but it qualifies.

'98 MIM Deluxe Active Jazz V, with two mods:

US Fender Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups (Thank you Mr. Lawrence, and R.I.P.)
Hipshot bridge (I wanted the widest spacing the neck could handle)

Thank you so much for the info on the neck.
The body is from Sept. 5, 1998. You are so right , the pickguard is aftermarket. I had never taken it off before. Guard is from all parts. Holes didn't match too well so we have a lot of different holes now. I appreciate the info. I bought this at a local music store for next to nothing, because it had brand new Schaller tunners, new EMG active pups and pots ,wiring and a badass II bridge , so I figured that since I liked the bass,as it was, I could also use the parts on a custom build. The build is coming along well now. I'll post a pic after she is done since she has a Fender neck just to let you see how it came out. Again Thanks.

My new build; complete but far from set up properly.

It was a Squier vm fretless, added SD Basslines, STK Hi mass bridge, TP guitars neck with binding & dots, Wilkinson vintage tuners and a sexy tort pickguard.

God's Favorite Bass was gracious enough to donate a few parts for my build so it will qualify as a "Fender", as opposed to a totally aftermarket build. My suggestion is this - if anyone needs something, post it here, and if someone can help, so much the better (you can PM to make arrangements). Let's try to help each other out.

Kosher, large shaft (American) '51 P-Bass knobs are on the way in the mail to you good Sir...I pearloid pimped my Cabby a little bit so it freed them up.

2nd: MIM P body, 62 RI pup, with P special neck and AVRI tuners

In the works: MIM body with CIJ Geddy pups and Road worn neck (waiting on neck to get here!)
