Fender FSR Club

Would there be a number left for an old soldier of the low life with a MIM FSR Jazz? Not the best wood match ever but boy she plays good and sounds sweet with TI Jazz Rounds......

Although this isn't advertised as a FSR I believe it to be one since it is only sold at GC and Musician's Friend?

If indeed this is considered a FSR please sign me up! If it helps I returned a used Fender Standard FSR Precision Bass Platinum for this one. :D

Hm, I dunno... Does it have "Special Edition" on a sticker/printed at the back of the headstock or engraved on the neckplate?

Er....not exactly.....nothing on neckplate, no sticker on back of headstock. Only indication of what it is can be found on the front of headstock:

Hey, if it's not an FSR, it's not an FSR. I'll survive......;)
I think it is an FSR, regardless of any stamp on the headstock. I believe it's a GC exclusive, therefore a special run. Quite a few FSRs don't have badging as such.

That should certainly qualify. Feralhog, you are hereby club member number 96

Just joined TB after years of lurking, and wanted to show off my FSR. Currently considering upgrading to Fender '60's and new controls.

NBD! ....And need a number,.. and some info. :) Purchased new today at Guitar Center...MIM Precision in silver (called Platinum on tag). They've only had one of these in the store, and no more, apparently. I can't find anything on GC's site, or Musician's Friend, etc. As you can see, it has the special sticker, and was produced in 2014. View attachment 621977 View attachment 621981 I did skim over this thread, pardon if I overlooked. ;) Love this color. Looks a lot like Inca Silver. Awesome bass! Anybody own one, or seen one?
A nice purchase !!!

Great bass Jazzman! Love mine
Mine Too !!! I will upgrade to the Fender Bad Ass Bridge and fender Noiseless Jazz pick ups and add more sheilding in the electronics cavity. After that some upgraded tuners. Then a great bass for the cost will be Evan better!!

I picked up a new Fender FSR Jazz 4 from the new local GC a few months ago. I continue to be impressed by the sound, overall quality and playability of the bass.

I did change the bridge out for a HipShot Type A (primarily because I prefer top load bridges) and also installed a new wiring in favor of a master Vol/PU Blend/Tone (with a sprague cap and Switchcraft jack).

It plays like butter too! Great neck and fret job!

Great choice...did the new wiring eliminate that Single Coil Hum...love my FSR ASH NATURAL DELUXE TOO but the hum is driving me batty ???

It made it slightly quieter but unfortunately with either p/u blended solo there's still some hum. I'm afraid that only way to solve that is to change the p/u's out for some stack dual coils.
It's not so bad that I can't live with it though (as is). I love that classic Fender SC tone!
